So, now that I am on Minds.com, I'll be posting older works and going forward both there and on Blogger. Some of this will be old paintings, drawings, stories, rants, graphic design, photos, adult works, crafts, and so on. Everyone starts some where and things change with time. I will be posting one image a day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays when ever possible until we are all caught up. Of course there will be a scattering of other things posted because I do want to still keep you guys up to date on current things as well. And feel free to comment on and discuss this roller coaster journey called art I've been on so far!
So starting off from 2002, an acrylic painting from one of my painting classes way back in collage, a highly stylized self portrait. Frankly I hate self portraits most of the time but they seem to be a common assigned subject matter in art classes of all types. The instructions for this one was to paint a primary color thickly over the canvas, then using only that color's complementary color, a second primary color, black and white, completely paint over it. Never did figure out what technique this was suppose to teach us. That particular paint teacher never liked explaining anything. But I liked how it turned out at the time. Sadly my then new, now ancient camera murdered getting a good image of it. My grandmother has the painting now, so maybe someday if I get to visit her again, I can get a better photo of it. Or I'll just update it and recreate it. Might be a fun way to do a then and now comparison. What do you guys think? Do an update?
