There is something special coming for Halloween weekend. So we are starting a count down to it with revisits of past creepy artwork, all ladies with a dark and/or twisted side to them or story around them or a connection to the comic book world.

So sit back, put on some spooky music, and enjoy the nostalgic and scary visual tales we weave!

I hope to hear a few of your own or your own interpretations of these artworks in the comments!

Today's art is from 2009. From time to time I draw images inspired by tarot cards. This was one of the first. Based off of the Major Arcana, The Moon Card, this features two of my Duo Ninja/Three Worlds Universe characters, Momizuumi Yurimaho and Takahashi Kasa/Al'Camour. I went a little crazy with the textures. I hope I have managed to get more subtle and smooth with textures since I did this one. The girl was suppose to be injured but I sucked (and still do) at drawing blood, and I forgot their matching ouroboros symbols.

Some day I will redraw/revisit this one. For now though, story time!

'The fight had turned into a battle, Yuri standing protectively over Kasa's fallen form, tired and drained from the early encounter with the night creatures. The train clattered along uncaringly as several of the dark beings oozed between the seats toward the desperate pair. She could see blood pooling under Kasa's head. He was only human and had taken a nasty blow, having been thrown against the train's wall and his head colliding with the glass window, knocking him out cold. She needed to get him out of here so she could safely heal him. The space was to narrow though, and she couldn't trust they'd not end up inside a wall or worse as she did not know the area well enough for a teleport spell.

One creature got to close and she slashed at it with one of her twin long knives. The blade bit deep into the inky blackness of it's body but passed through it as smoothly and as harmlessly as if she was trying to cut smoke. Her efforts were rewarded with very real, blisteringly sharp claws tearing into her arm, ripping cloth and flesh. Crying out, she countered with a ball of white light shoved in the featureless plane that seemed to be its face.

There was a pained hiss and the brief smell of burning paper as the creature recoiled from her. Before Yuri could call on another, the train was suddenly plunged into darkness as they entered a tunnel. Instantly dozens of burning razors raked over her skin. She swung her blades back and forth frantically, but couldn't connect with her assailants. Drawing on her last reserves, she planned to release what she had left in one big flash of light, but she was stopped as a pair of familiar warm arms wraped around her, the attacks stopping as the unseen creatures hissed in frustration.

"Al'Camour?" She whispered, as her heart pounded faster in her breast. "Is Kasa all right?"

"He is still unconscious," a dark velvety voice whispered in her ear. "However, I can not tolerate these filthy urchins touching our partner."

As he spoke, cold silvery light flooded the train car, revealing the crouching shadows once again. Al'Camour's wings emerged from his back with a sickening crunching of bone and ripping of flesh. The blood red and razor sharp metallic feathers posed around Yuri protectively as Al'Camour held her close.

Looking over her head he grinned sadistically at their enemies. "Step forward and meet your destruction."'
